What happens when a seller's agent presents you with a buyer's representation form during a viewing? What are the consequences of signing?

It is not required for you to have representation to view a home represented by the seller's agent.

If an agent insists it is necessary, this may be considered unethical behavior as refusing a potential buyer is likely not in the best interest of their seller, whom they are obligated to represent.

You can absolutely sign a Customer Acknowledgment Agreement to ensure the agent does not "double end the deal".

If you feel as though the agent isn't treating you appropriately, you can rate the agent and we will follow up with their broker.

You may also choose to file an online complaint form.
