We have many people ask if family or friends can help with the sale of your home. RECA sets out some strong guildlines around how and if this can be done. They do consider someone helping as "trading in real estate without a license", which is a regulatory violation. So the short answer is that this is very tricky and should only be done in extenuating circumstances.

IMPORTANT: If your name is on the title of your home, and you will be selling it, these regulations do not apply to you. You can manage the sale of your home without any regulatory issues.
