In the traditional model, buy-side agents are typically paid by the seller. While there is no standard across Canada, this amount is, on average, between 1.5 and 3%. That means the seller has to list the house for more to receive the same amount of equity.
Bōde allows both seller and buyer to save money. The total transaction cost is 1% of the sale price to a ceiling of $10k at the time of the sale.
All things being equal, a buyer can purchase a property for less, and a seller can save up to 5% on commissions and retain more of the equity in their home.
